The Minuchin Center for the Family, founded on the philosophy and work of Salvador Minuchin, MD, is a nonprofit organization that provides Structural Family Therapy training to individuals, and systemic consultations to organizations, working with couples and families that are marginalized due to racism, socio-economic conditions and/or sexual orientation.
Through its Extern Program and various workshops, participants learn practical skills that can be applied to "impossible" cases, non-traditional families, child/school problems, community-based interventions with poor families, as well as to chemically dependent family systems.
It is an exciting time here at the Minuchin Center for the Family. We have moved to a new, larger and more modern space. The new space has a classroom for fifty students with a larger one-way mirror consultation room and state-of-the-art sound and recording equipment. The new facility also has office space so that the faculty can write, edit films and analyze data for outcome research on our consultations. As many of you are ware, the relocation and expansion in space required a significant amount of money. We need your financial help as well as your personal commitment and involvement.
