As many of you are aware, the finances in health care are getting worse. We need your financial help as well as your personal commitment and involvement with the Center.
There have been many funding and grant cuts in the last year, and certainly more to come. Many of our minority students, and the agencies that serve children and families have lost funding for training.
Please consider a donation for a student or Agency scholarship. We have started a scholarship fund to support African-American, Hispanic-American, Asian-American, and Native-American students.
Consider a donation to have your or your family’s name on the scholarship fund, or the Family Therapy Library.
Education
Agency Scholarship
The Agency Scholarship assists agencies who wish to become more family oriented, but do not have the funds to hire consultants. Donations to this scholarship would assist these agencies. The agency could attend MCF’s Summer Intensive, have a year long consultation, or contribute looking for matching grants.
Family Therapy Resource Library
Over the years the Minuchin Center has collected hundreds of recorded consultations over the years. We are now looking to revive these videos of Dr. Salvador Minuchin, Virginia Satir, Bill O’Hanlon, Jay Haley, and more, to assist in training new therapists. These videos and written recordings will be accessible for teachers and students to come to the Center and review with appointment.
Thanks to grants and donations the Family Therapy Resource Library has started to grow wings. MCF will begin to formally develop the library in June of 2007.
